Naomi let out a big breath as she stepped outside the log cabin she had just helped fill with equipment for this expedition. She has lost track of her hound during all the excitement of arrival and not that she has a moment she has to make sure Judith was staying out of trouble.
The handler looked so over camp, near the food storage, her tent, the central for that was already lit, and even some other handlers tents just to be sure he silly pup hasn't gotten lost.
After thirty minutes of searching the campground she started to expand her search a little further out, luckily this time it didn't take Naomi long to locate Judith.
The hound sat serenely at the waters edge nose towards the sky enjoying the cool breeze that has graced the party on their travels.
"You enjoying the breeze girl?" The handler asked Judith before taking a seat next to her hound to join them in enjoying the nice weather.

Naomi and Judith stayed seated by the lake for nearly an hour before the hound began to get restless.
“Come on girl, lets go see if we can spot any of the passage.” Naomi said to the hound as she pushed herself up off the ground.
The pair wandered around the lake keeping an eye out for any of the weeds they were looking for. At one point Judith froze nose stuck to the ground and she took off after the sent.
Naomi gasped and ran after her hound calling the pups name trying to get her attention. Judith was having none of it she was going to chase what ever it was that she had found.
Judith splashed into the water barking at something Naomi wasn’t sure what it was. Stopping at the waters edge the handler spotted the dusk rat that had caused the drama floating away peacefully on a wedge of floating bark taunting the hound that refused to go further into the water.

Naomi and Judith took a moment to catch their breath after chasing after the tiny menace, and the larger menace chasing the tiny one.(the dusk rat then Judith who couldn’t resist) Naomi sat on the ground looking out over the lake keeping an eye on the dusk rat floating away. Judith had forgotten about her hunt just a few moments ago and was chasing her tail excitedly next to her handler.
The sun was setting and Naomi couldn’t help but sit and wait a little longer to watch it drop below the trees as the sky turned vibrant shades of purple, orange, pink then finally the blue of night. Judith had eventually settled down while her human sat and payed next to her giving the pair a nice long recharge so they were both ready to head back to camp and search for the herbs on their way back.

While the pair made their way back towards camp Naomi noticed that Judith had started to lag behind before stopping all of a sudden.
“What is it friend?” Naomi asked as she turned and found the hound with her nose stuck to the ground sniffing deeply.
Judith made no attempt to respond not even taking notice that her human had said something before the scent she was stuck on hit her again, this time the trail lead off into the trees. With out a moments hesitation Judith bolted after the yummy scent leaving her handler behind.
Naomi had watched the gears turn in her pups head and right as she tried to step in and redirect her hound Judith had already taken off.
With a deep breath to remain calm as the night grew dark with clouds Naomi followed her hound off the path and into the tree line.

Naomi chased after Judith, but it didn't take long for the handler to get out of breath. She swore she stopped just for a second to catch her breath, but when she looked up again her hound was no where in sight
"Judith?" She called out knowing it was hopeless, when the pup got focused on something nothing could pull her attention away.
Looking around Naomi realized that she had chased Judith further into the trees than she expected. She wandered in the direction she thought she came from but soon realized she had no idea where she was.
The wind picked up whistling through the trees, Naomi shivered cursing herself for forgetting her favorite sweater back at their campsite.
"Judith?" She called again hoping the hound would return soon
Shortly after there was a rustle in the leaves causing the handler to jump and take a step back, her eyes never leaving the underbrush it came from.
There was another rustle before a creature burst through the brush.
Naomi shreiked jumping back hitting her head on the tree that had any k up behind her. Screaming again when a large black blob chased after the first creature before pausing and returning to it's human to check on her.
"Judith please don't run off like that," Naomi nearly begged the hound as she rubbed the back of her head hoping all it was was a little bump that was causing her headache.

Naomi and Judith wandered around the woods they had found themselves lost in. Naomi had hoped the hound could help lead the pair back to camp, but every time she tries to ask Judith just stared blankly back tail wagging happily.
Naomi had noticed the incline after they had gone a good ways up it, her pace picked up hoping that she could get an idea of which direction they should head in to find their way back to camp. Naomi didn't enjoy their adventure off the path, anime Judith. Well Naomi want sure if Judith even knew where she was, but she was having fun.
Reaching the top of the hill Naomi tried to get a glimpse of camp but all she saw were trees.
"Really?" She groaned frustrated they had probably traveled even further away from camp for no reason

Judith gave a quick Haruph before sticking her nose back to the ground her tail wagging nearly shaking the whole back of her body then takes off in the direction the pair was headed in.
Naomi didn't get a chance to even complain 'not again' before having to chase after her hound. She could barely see in front of her and in fact ran into a couple of push branches that more than likely left small scratches on her cheeks, the sound of Judiths loud deep sniffs and odd snuff sounds guide Naomi in the direction of her hound.
After a few more moments of thick bushes and low hanging tree branches Judith lead Naomi into a clearing that the moon lit up giving the human the ability to see more clearly. She couldn't make sense of where they were but she had decided that if she were to sleep under the stars tonight this would be the place.

Judith quickly ran around the clearing stopping in patches of larger grass growth. She circled the clearing two more times before sitting in the center of the patch her head held high announcing with an “Awooo” as if to say: ‘Tah-dah!’
Naomi stood there stunned, she had never seen her hound behave like this. Judith’s howl caused her to jump at the unexpected near pride her hound had. She looked at the patches of plants that Judith had signaled at. They all looked like patches of clovers but instead of clover they were all parsage! Her heart raced and she did a little happy dance before a yawn hit her like a large steam carriage.
“I think we found it Judith, or I guess you found it. But I think I need a rest before we do anything else…” she said to the hound as she sat on the ground to try and get comfortable.

Naomi groaned as she stirred, she thought her tent would have blocked more of the sun in the morning and that she had brought enough bedding she would have been more comfortable and not as achey in the morning.
A cold nose fully brought the handler out of her sleepy confusion as Judith pounced on her. Shoving the hound off of her Naomi realized why everything was off. She was still in the clearing in the woods no where near the camp. She’s not even sure she could find her way back to the camp.
The smell of the parsage surrounding her had her squealing in delight that they had found the plants the botanist needed. If only she could remember what they said to do after they were located, did she need to take some back or only remember how she got here.

Naomi paced through a path that had none of the plants the botanist was after. She chewed on her thumb playing through the initial meeting they had the day before the whole group set out, the botanist had said to be careful with the plant.
Judith followed close behind her handler's heels growing impatient with each lap they made. She bounded off harumphing to try and gain the attention of her human again, stopping in the center of the plants that smelled good and seemed so important to all the humans.
Naomi watched her hound tell her off in the hounds on way. "I know, I know, good girl you found them. Do you think you could find them again?" She asked nervously as she crouched down to the patch of silvery plants and hesitantly pinched off a small clipping deciding to take back what she could.

After gathering as much of the various plants in the clearing she could Naomi turned to face Judith.
"You ready to head out?" She asked the hound who in response ran in a circle chasing her tail. "Ok then, lead the way... If you can," she tried to sound confident in her pups skills to hide her concern for trusting her to guide them back safely.
Judith took no notice of the hesitancy her handler had and happily darted off full speed in a direction without even smelling the ground. Naomi followed groaning at the fact her hound didn't seem to have any other speeds than to walk or sprint.
Surprisingly the pair took no longer than 30 minutes to return to camp, the pair arriving a little before noon

The Botanist was thrilled hearing about the clearing being found. They weren't too happy about the night long adventure and Naomi caught a few disapproving looks thrown towards Judith leaving a weird feeling in her stomach.
They took a small break for everyone to have a lunch and for Judith and Naomi to rest a little longer before they were given a chance to take the botanist and a group of others on the expedition to the clearing.
Luckily Judith quickly found the path, the pair had taken this morning to get back to camp. Their journey to the clearing last night must have been from the opposite side and on their way back to camp.

Judith trotted at the front of the group, surprising Naomi with the brisk walk instead of just full on run. The hound stopped every few minutes to glance back to the small group following her as if she were checking to ensure they were still following her before turning back to her proud trot.
Naomi stuck to the front of the group closest to her hound. She was glad for the afternoon light from the sun and finally had the chance to fully take in the forest surrounding them. She could see the lake off to her left still shocked by how close they were to everything but still felt so far the previous night.
When they reached the clearing Judith proudly pranced to the center of the small clearing and sat facing the group she had just lead there.
The Botanist gasped and said something so quickly and excitedly no one could understand what she said.
Naomi went to stand next to her hound giving Judith a pat on the head paired with a "you did good girl."
