The hounds seemed to be drawn back toward the forest, and Ollie was happy to follow, eager to more traces of the little creature that had left the strange prints they had come across earlier. Roadstead, Sunshower, Niblet and He's So Mice bounded through the pine needles, excited to be back in the trees, while Ollie followed.
Suddenly, they all paused, all ears perked toward the sound of rustling in the ferns again. Ollie froze as well, heading whipping in the same direction. Could it be? Another chance to find the little creature? He held his breath in eager anticipation, waiting to see if anything would emerge.

They wandered back onto the beach, looking out toward the sea in search of anything new. They'd had a relatively uneventful outing so far, and Ollie hoped to have a little more to bring back to base camp and share with the rest of the expedition.
He wandered along the beach with Roadstead, Sunshower, Niblet, and He's So Mice, kicking up sand as they pranced along, just happy to be out. Before long, they came across a cluster of rocks, in which Ollie spotted a plant.
"Oh look at this, hounds!" he said, reaching for the plant. Perhaps it'd be interesting material to bring back to Alice.
While they waited for Niblet to finish rolling around, Sunshower, Roadstead and He's So Mice began to sniff around in search of other more interesting things. They snuffled about in the pine needles, looking for anything worth snatching up. It didn't take long for Roadstead to uncover a lovely shiny rock, which he picked up and brought proudly to Ollie.
"Good job, buddy," Ollie said, giving the hound a pat on the head. Roadstead seemed quite pleased with himself and refused to put the rock down.
"That's alright, you can bring that with us if you want," Ollie said with a little chuckle.
