While Holland and Axis rested on the large rock they'd found in the middle of the creek, Plum and Clay were eagerly exploring the bushes along the shore. She had just pulled out her pan and get back to work when they started barking frantically from inside a mess of the scrubby brush. Axis leapt off the rock and splashed to shore, joining them, then he too started barking.
Holland put her pan back into her satchel and hopped back into the creek, keeping her eye on the water as she did so. When she got to shore she made her way to the hounds through the brush, wondering what they'd found... (WC 112)
