After lunch Holland and the hounds walked up the creek for a little ways. Every so often Holland had to pull out her machete and whack away the thick bushes in her path so she could pass but occasionally she bypassed them all together and waded out into the running water. Axis plunged in alongside her while the other two were content to weave though the underbrush. At least they were smooth coated, Axis on the other hand was bound to be full of brambly bits and stickers by the time they got back. Had she brought his brush?
There was a large flat rock in the middle of the creek and she stopped to relax for a bit, Axis at her side. (WC 123)
