Ollie paused to inspect a cluster of herbs growing by the creek. "This might be useful," he said to the hounds, reach out to pick one for his stash. Roadstead and Sunshower gave it a little sniff, while Icarus and Catamaran tried to give it a good nibble for good measure.
"Come on, let's keep moving," Ollie said with a chuckle, gently pushing the young hounds away. They continued to trek east along the creek, keeping their eyes and ears peeled for anything that might seem unfamiliar or interesting. So far, though, it was all just quite pleasant, with the sun warm on their backs.

1 - Event! Your handler hikes up the creek, far out of sight of the base camp. They notice that more and more traces of ore can be seen on the creek bottom. Submit a claim to investigate!
As they neared the creek, Roadstead let out a low wuff and slunk off into the brush. Sunshower perked up and followed after him. The two hounds disappeared, with only the rustling of leaves betraying their location, and minutes later, reemerged tugging at a Berdir pelt between them.
"Nice find!" Ollie said as the dropped it at his feet. He picked it up and called for Catamaran and Icarus, who came charging back to rejoin them. "Maybe we can search farther up the creek."
With the hounds in tow and a pelt slung over his shoulder, Ollie headed east, following the gentle bubbling creek.

Their wanderings didn't yield much. While Icarus and Catamaran careened around in blissful chaos in the background, Ollie attempted to climb up one side of the valley with Roadstead and Sunshower in tow. They made it up barely a few minutes before the loose rock and vegetation proved too much, and Ollie wisely abandoned their quest in favor of remaining on the valley floor.
"Back toward the river, perhaps?" he suggested to the two at his side, looking around for the younger hounds, who were still having the time of their lives running up and down the river bank. "Let's go that way."

After snatching up some mature candleweed, Ollie continued on with Sunshower, Roadstead, Catamaran and Icarus following happily beside him. They wandered toward the sound of water bubbling from the creek, eager to see if they could find some ore in the shallow waters.
As they reached the creekside, Ollie dipped a hand into the cool running water and gave the hounds a pat. "Okay, you guys can explore a bit," he told them. "But stay close!"
Catamaran and Icarus rushed off, racing along the riverbank, while Roadstead and Sunshower stayed close, sniffing the soft ground at their feet. "Let's see if we can find anything good," Ollie said.

6 Your handler tries to hike up the side of the valley, but it proves to be too steep.
Ollie was absolutely delighted to be on an expedition again. The last one at Llynmere Lake had been eye opening, to say the least, and he was thrilled to be out in the wild again, searching for something new. He had brought Roadstead, Sunshower, Catamaran and Icarus with him this time - a handful of hounds, to be sure, but he was confident in his ability to handle all of them. Plus it seemed a great training exercise. Finally, after many days cooped up on the steam carriage, they had arrived! Dumping all of their supplies in their newly set up tent, Ollie leaped out and called the hounds to him.
"Let's go!"
