How to Design

Range

Minimum | Maximum | Maximum Solid

Edges

 Hard | Soft | Blended

Sable is eumelanin shading over a phaeomelanin base. Sable can present as a phaemelanin only hound. Minimum only shading may occur in any one of the three marked places, or any combination of them. Sable may present as solid, soft edged or blended, or a combination. Shaded areas may be fully blended out. Shading flows from the topline of the Hound down. Areas with no shading may not occur above areas with shading. Solid area must always occur on or above any shaded areas. You can never have solid areas below shaded areas. Shaded areas may extend further than permitted solid areas. Hounds may have a mix of solid and shaded, but the solid areas must be reach a relatively even place across the hound.
