Fish biscuit
After her angering fiasco with the seagulls and then absolute assault by the tiny crab Hel was left feeling sore and hungry. So she decided to head back into town and back down the familiar roads to her home. She used her nose to follow the scent of her human back to her house. That’s blue she knew she would never get lost. She could rely on her sniffer for just about anything. She didn’t let the smell of fresh baked dog biscuits deter her from her route back home. Hel knew that any of the good stuff would cost those trinkets that only humans carried around and traded to one another for goods. That’s why Hel worked so hard to gather things on her adventures. So she could give her human the things and she could trade them for those little trinkets to buy her more biscuits. As she neared home she picked up her pace her stomach letting out a loud growl to remind her of her failure earlier. Her mouth watered thinking about the fish head that was ripped from her so quickly she wanted to weep. She reached her door and stuck her head in the flap, slowly as she had learned on the way out as to not get smacked by the door commingle back down on her. From there she saw her human’s eyes light up in recognition and Hel looked back at her. Her hair was disheveled and it was clear she had just woken up. ‘About time’ she thought to herself nearly rolling her eyes.
Kiki had woken up a bit disoriented and confused, she had slept for a while. Longer than she wanted to admittedly. She was just so tired from the exploitation, she was not one used to manual labor. She was glad she had gone but still felt the soreness in her limbs. She looked around her confused and not seeing Hel. She got herself out of bed and began to get ready going to go out and look for her. She had put the doggy door in and chose not to lock it, she didn’t think that Hel would get lost. But what if she was? Alone scared? The thought made Kiki frown. Just when she was a bout to head out a head popped in the doggy door. Kiki’s panic subsided and she smiled. “I see you figured out how to use your doggy door all by yourself” she let out a little laugh, cutting it off short as her stomach let out a loud growl. “Looks like it’s time to get some food huh?” She asked Hel let out a demanding bark in response. “Okay don’t get sassy with me girl we’re going” she didn’t bother messing with her hair already feeling bad she had made Hel wait this long.
It was a short walk to thier favorite bakery. Hel trotted happily next to Kiki’s side the two of them made this walk together often it was becoming a bit of a habit. Hel’s tail wagged faster and faster as they approached knowing the smell of the freshly made dog biscuits was comming from here. Once outside Kiki swung the door open and Hel trotted inside. Hel made her way straight to the glass case that housed the biscuits. She whined to get Kiki’s attention and then looked at the case. Inside of it were several different shaped biscuits, ones that looked like fish, a circle a square, they had different smells so Hel could assume different flavors. She pushed her nose up against the glass to signify that she wanted a fish biscuit. Kiki nodded. “I’ll have a loaf of bread and one of your fish biscuits.” They exchanged the tokens that Hel had found that morning making Hel proud of herself. The baker then gave them the biscuits. “Thank you so much!” Kiki said cheerfully. “Do come again!” The baker replied. “Oh you know we will it’s our faveorite place. You can smell the fresh baked bread from our home every morning.” The baker laughed and waved them goodbye. Kiki handed Hel the biscuit. “Why don’t we go for that walk we talked about? We could explore more of the woods today” Hel’s tail wagged faster as she nibbles on her biscuit sounded like a good day to her. They made thier way down the street Kiki taking stops along the way. Just when they were passing the merchant alley she paused. “Let’s go here fist and see what they have?” Hel let out a grumble to protest but went along anyway.
