Hel gets her fish

Hel paced back and forth keeping the sleeping figure of her handler in the corner of her eye. The girl had not left her resting area since they had returned from their expedition. It had been such a fun time for Hel but honestly had seemed like it was a lot of work for Kiki. The girl was frail and not built for the labor that is settling camp. She had still tried her best Hel could admire that about her. That is why Hel had taken great care not to wake the girl from her sleep, even despite her stomach growling in protest. Of course she had the urge to pull off the covers from the girl and wake her as she had before. She didn’t though instead taking to pacing.

As she inched over towards the door she remembered that the human had installed some thing that she called a doggie door. Hell went near this door And gently nudged it with her nose flap of the door swung a little bit in the breeze. She stuck her head in quite quickly and the flap rocked on its hinges and smacked back hitting her on the nose. Hel let out a sharp yelp and put her paw to her nose rubbing it to help ease the throbbing. She determined that she would have to be slower going through the door. So she sat there for a second to think about the best way to approach this new task. Slowly she stuck one paw out in front of her and put it through the flap of the door. When the door did not swing back and hurt her she decided that this was the best way to go through. So she slowly slunk through the door. Her nose picking up a familiar wig off to the left. She let her nose lead her down the familiar street that her and her human had walked so many times. The sun was barely rising above the horizon and as she got closer to the docks realizing that that was where the smell was come from. She picked up her pace and eagly followed the smell.

Seagulls squawked loudly as she got closer to the docks she could see the fisherman hauling the fish off of their boats. One fisherman Hel was familiar with because she had begged at their stall with their human not that long ago. Your eyes followed him as he loaded the last of the fish off of his boat and onto a small cart that he had near his boat. She then watched the man cart his way over to his stall that was near the city close to the docks. She made her way over to his table using her nose to sniff around. She watched as he slowly one by one took the fish off of the cart and placed it under the table arranging them by size shape and color she didn’t know that they were different types of fish to her they just looked a little different but they were fish. Hel watched as he took one of the fish and began to cut his head off. She wondered what he was doing with it as he kind of pushed the head aside towards the garbage bin but not quite off of the table. He did this with a couple fish leaving most of the fish with their heads on but some of them not. The ones that had lost their head were now being completely descaled. He prepared this and said the meat side she wondered why he did not set all of the meat aside and prepare all of the fish this way. Instead he left some fish hole sitting on his table. Her children curiosity peaked and she made her way over to the table so that she could get a better look at what he was doing. She I’d the fish heads her mouth watering and she let out a tiny little one looking at the back of the man who is now turned loading the meat onto another stall. The man jumped at her noise as it had been quiet relatively other than the sound of the Sea gals in the waves crashing in. He turned his head and his eye shown that he too recognized her.” Ahh your that pup from the other day? Where is your girl? The one with the pink hair?” He asked. Hel just let out a little wihne as she didn’t speak human but she did understand him. The man’s eye softened and he looked down at hell and looked at the fish heads that were on the table that Hel had been eyeing so feverishly. “These are just scraps I normally leave for the local strays you can have one too” he then slid a fish off of the table onto the floor next to her. Eagerly her tail wag and she let out happy little yips as she picked up the fish in her mouth and ran off to find a good spot to eat it.
